Kids WB! No More

Toon Zone is reporting that The CW has decided to end their Kids WB! Programming in favor of having 4Kids TV taking over the Saturday morning cartoon block. Unfortunately, this leaves much of their current Saturday morning programming in limbo as the fate of cartoons like The Spectular Spider-Man is unknown.

Personally, I find this most unfortunately as The CW, formally WB, has proven themselves to be capable of developing quality animated programming. In recent years, they have developed some ill-conceived shows such as The Batman which likely harmed the station's ratings.
Transformers: Animated First Look

The Allspark is reporting that Hasbro and Cartoon Network have released a promotional advertisement that unveils the new Optimus Prime design. For those unaware, Cartoon Network is developing a new Transformers animated series, Transformers: Animated, slated to debut Spring 2008. Beast Machines writer Marty Isenberg will be head writer of the new animated series.

Personally, I can understand the need to return the series to its animated roots which would explain the new animation style. It is nice to see the character design of Optimus Design returning to his Generation 1 roots; however, I hope Cartoon Network will not go overboard turning the series into a Cartoon Cartoon.
